Bibles for churches in Cambodia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan

Bible Society NZ · 15 July 2026 · 3 min read

THE CAUSE

Jesus came so that everyone could hear the good news of His love and receive the hope of new life. Yet today, millions of people are still waiting for the chance to read or hear God's Word for themselves.

Across Cambodia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, local churches are working tirelessly to change that. Together with their Bible Societies, they are reaching people with the life-changing message of the Gospel, many for the very first time.

In remote villages and communities affected by conflict, God's Word is often out of reach. For people living with uncertainty, hardship, and fear, this means missing the comfort, guidance, and hope that only Scripture can bring.

Simply use the secure online donation form or internet banking to make your gift to help churches around the world place Bibles into the hands of people searching for hope, peace, and truth.

Voice from Ukraine - Bible Mission

From Grief to Hope in Ukraine

When Tetiana Tkachuk's husband was killed while defending Ukraine in 2022, her world fell apart.

"I didn't know how to keep living," she recalls. "I constantly dreamed of dying just to be with him again."

Overwhelmed by grief, Tetiana withdrew from those around her. Everything changed when she joined a support group, where she was given a Bible by the Ukrainian Bible Society.

Although she had never believed in God before, reading His Word transformed her life.

"I surrendered to God and invited Jesus Christ into my heart. Immediately, I felt a heavy burden lift. I could sleep again. I found peace. I realised God had never left me."

Today, Tetiana is a baptised Christian who leads support groups for widows and has completed chaplaincy training. Having experienced God's comfort herself, she now walks alongside others facing unimaginable loss.

"Life is so much easier with God. Without Him, it is impossible."

Tetiana's story is a powerful reminder that God's Word brings hope where despair seems overwhelming.

YOUR GIFT CAN OPEN THAT DOOR

Your gift today can help place Bibles into the hands of people facing conflict, grief, and uncertainty, so they too can experience the comfort and hope found in Christ.
