Costa Rica
Costa Rica, a Central American nation between the Pacific and Caribbean, is known for natural beauty, peace and resilience. Home to five million people, it gained independence from Spain in 1821.
Predominantly Christian, it now faces environmental degradation despite rich biodiversity, and declining youth church engagement.
The Bible Society seeks to unite youth and churches to address environmental and spiritual challenges.
Many Costa Rican youth show a latent spiritual need and are increasingly motivated by social and environmental issues beyond traditional church settings. Guided by Genesis 1:26, the Bible Society Costa Rica seeks to mobilise churches and youth to care for creation. Through the Church Caring for Creation project, it will partner with 33 churches across denominations, engage over 1,000 young people, distribute 2,000 Scripture resources, develop ecological discipleship materials, and deliver 20 biblically based environmental workshops by 2027.
The Scripture verse that inspires this project is Genesis 1:26 (NIV) – “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
This project enables the Bible Society to engage individuals with the word of God through diverse strategies and into communities where we have not previously been able to make an impact.

Prayer Points for Costa Rica
For the Creation Care – Pray that through the Church Caring for the Creation project, more churches and young people will be inspired and rise as champions to follow Genesis 1:26 and care for the environment.
For Young People – Pray that the Word of God will reach the hearts of the young people and be source of hope amidst all the challenges within their nation.
For Provision and Impact – Pray that God provides all the necessary resources to promote these workshops and discipleship materials.
Give thanks to God for his providence that the Christian faith remains strong and nourished and local outreach continues to grow.

Bangladesh, a densely populated South Asian nation, has rich spiritual values and strong family bonds. This faith-based literacy project empowers women by providing reading instruction, learning materials, and safe spaces, fostering opportunity, dignity, and personal confidence. Rooted in God’s love, it supports holistic community growth, helping individuals develop knowledge, faith, and self-esteem. Kenya, a diverse East African nation, has a youthful population, yet many face poverty, unemployment, family instability, violence, and trauma from displacement or abuse. Limited mental health support leaves young people and parents struggling without guidance, healing, or hope for the future.

This faith-based youth and trauma support project provides safe spaces, counselling, mentorship, and trauma-informed programs, helping young people heal, build resilience, and grow in faith. Grounded in God’s love, it empowers youth to embrace their worth and become positive community leaders.
Serbia
About Serbia
Serbia, in Southeast Europe, faces political, economic, and social challenges. Vulnerable groups—refugees, minorities, and marginalized communities—often lack a voice and access to advocacy or engagement opportunities, limiting their ability to influence policies affecting human rights, inclusion, and civic participation.
