YOUR MONTHLY MEMBER’S REPORT APRIL 2026

Brazil

Brazil is the largest nation in South America and home to more than 213 million people with Portuguese as the official language. It also has one of the world’s largest Christian populations, with 56.8{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2} Roman Catholic and 26.9{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2} Evangelical Protestant.

This nation is also home for one of the most valuable natural heritages, The Amazon River. The river is a shelter for the riverside families who live along the waterways in the state of Pará. Despite safeguarding river ecosystems, riverside communities still face poverty, limited services, and exclusion from government support because they lack formal identification documents. Their spiritual hunger also grows as local churches are scarce.

Through the Light in the Amazon project, the Bible Society of Brazil brings Scripture and practical aid to these remote communities. In 2026, the project aims to reach 30,000 people across 500 communities, distributing Bibles and providing essential support such as food parcels, school kits, medical and dental care, hygiene items, and citizenship assistance.

The project team faces many challenges in reaching these communities due to the isolated locations. Despite this, the team remains steadfast drawing strength from the promise in Psalm 41:1 “You, Lord God, bless everyone who cares for the poor, and you rescue those people in times of trouble.”

Your gift this month will directly support the project that continues this mission in bringing Scripture, practical care, and hope to vulnerable riverside communities living along the banks of the world’s largest river.

Prayer Points for Brazil

For the Light in the Amazon project
Pray that the “Light in the Amazon” project may continue to transform and bring hope to the lives of those living in the riverside communities through the spreading of the Word of God, access to health, education and citizenship.

For Provision and Impact
Pray that the beneficiaries will receive and engage with the Word of God, allowing its transforming power to shape their lives. Pray that the light of Christ continues to shine through them in their villages, tribes, communities, and families long after the mission boat has planted its first seed.

For current and future partners
Pray that they will embrace this project as a God given mission, committing themselves wholeheartedly to its evangelistic and social impact.

Give thanks to God for sustaining a strong and vibrant Christian faith, and for the continued growth of local outreach.

Myanmar Bible a Month Regular Giving

Myanmar

Located in Southeast Asia, Myanmar is a nation with remarkable cultural diversity, shaped by more than 135 ethnic groups and united by Burmese as its official language. Geba is one of the ethnic minorities of the Sgaw Karen tribe with a population of 46.000. Among them, there are about 80{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2} of Geba speakers who are Christian, with the majority practising as Catholics. At the same time, a smaller number are Baptists or Anglicans.

Your impact

Your support will bring hope and transformation to the lives of the Geba community by enabling them to hear and read Scripture in their own language through the Geba Bible Translation Project.

Pakistan - Bible a Month Regular Giving

Pakistan

Pakistan is a culturally diverse nation with Urdu and English as its official languages. It is predominantly Muslim (96.4{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2}), with Christians making up just 1.4{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2} of the population. The country faces ongoing challenges in economic development and access to quality education, resulting in low literacy rates. These barriers especially affect women, and among Christian women, literacy drops to only 34{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2}. This leaves many unable to fully engage with their faith or support their families independently.

Your impact

Your support enables illiterate Christian women in remote villages to engage with the Bible, gain confidence, improve literacy, and strengthen their faith through the Beacon in the Darkness of Illiteracy Project.

Cameroon - Bible a Month Regular Giving

Cameroon

Cameroon is a Central African nation of around 30 million people. The country faces serious challenges affecting its next generation. Nearly half (48{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2}) of Cameroonians report that violence against women is common, with many girls experiencing abuse as early as age 12. This leaves them raising children alone, living in poverty, and carrying deep trauma that limits their confidence and future opportunities. These young mothers urgently need support and the life‑giving reminder that they are valued and loved by their Creator.

Your impact

Your support helps restore hope through the Esther Project, an initiative of Bible Society Cameroon. Through Bible study groups and trauma‑healing activities, these young mothers receive emotional, spiritual, and practical empowerment.

Albania Bible Society

Albania

Albania is home to nearly 3 million people and a rich cultural heritage shaped by centuries of resilience. Christians have faced sustained persecution leaving a legacy of low biblical literacy and a shortage of sound theological and biblical teaching. Although around 16{0efa61f77e4cd09e7b4f08094b2911ffcdf8ad00293cb60de4a24edfe6036ea2} of the population identifies as Christian, including Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and a small evangelical community, biblical understanding remains limited, even among believers.

Your impact

Your support will enable the Albanian Bible Society to facilitate and implement the Bible Engagement & Biblical Learning Centre project aiming to rebuild spiritual foundations, equip leaders with sound theology and impact wider communities in more meaningful ways.

The Soul of Shame

Whether we realize it or not, shame affects every aspect of our personal lives and vocational endeavors. It seeks to destroy our identity in Christ, replacing it with a damaged version of ourselves that results in unhealed pain and brokenness.

But God is telling a different story for your life. Psychiatrist Curt Thompson unpacks the soul of shame, revealing its ubiquitous nature and neurobiological roots. He also provides the theological and practical tools necessary to dismantle shame, based on years of researching its damaging effects and counseling people to overcome those wounds.
